This luxurious Golden Oval Platter by Herend is a universal piece to compliment any tablescape or to add to your personal Golden Laurel Collection. This pattern was originally created for use at Buda Castle (also known as the Royal Palace) during the reign of Francis Joseph I who was Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary. Initially created in the 1870s, it consisted of a golden laurel wreath branch and bore the monogram of Francis Joseph as well as the Hungarian Crown.
