That’s right – it’s our annual bridal party extravaganza! Come by the store – we’ll be open until 7pm tonight – for the bridal event of the year. The Grand Remodel: Day 10

Things are moving along with our grand remodel. Today we put in the new counter in the back of the store (and you’ll notice we built a wall where the original hallway to the basement was!). Lots of changes on the main floor and basement – we’re starting to believe that we’re getting closer and closer to the finish line!

Tomorrow we will start cleaning up our massive mess and start bringing out all our beautiful things we’ve been storing. We’re ready to start displaying so we can see just how gorgeous the new store will look!

The Grand Remodel: Day 8 & 9

The last few days we’ve been really focused on the changes on the main floor, so it was time to switch gears and work on the basement! The walls are painted, the floors have been cleaned, the lighting fixtures have gone in and the furniture has come in! It was time to work on those finishing touches that will really make the basement look beautiful. We’ve been adding a great texture with the bricks and starting to put up the shelving. It’s really exciting to start seeing it all come together!

It’s all hands on deck at Belle Cose. We even recruited Jane’s nephew, Phillip, to come join the fun for a little while.

Wall is looking good! Now all we need to do is the grouting...

The Grand Remodel: Day 7

We have two ways to get from the main floor to the basement now that the stairs in the middle of the store are finished! Here’s a sequence of how the stairs were put in.

And while the boys were busy building the stairs, the BC girls kept painting away! There is also a LOT of merchandise that’s been coming in over the last week, and so we finally sat down to start pricing all the boxes downstairs…

All the kitchen merchandise we’re pricing is going to look so beautiful in our new space downstairs. Check back tomorrow for all the changes that are going on in the basement!

The Grand Remodel: Day 6

Ladies & Gentlemen: we have stairs!!! Well, first we had a hole in the floor and we are slowly moving towards stairs.

Next step after opening up the floor is to get some railing on there so we don’t fall through the floor!

In this next picture, notice the color change on the crown moldings. It’s so fun to see pieces come together!

And while the guys were busy building the stairs, the BC gals painted away!

Finishing the crown molding. We painted the darker color first, then finished it with the lighter gray and distressed the edges. Looking good!

The Grand Remodel: Day 4 & 5

Check out our gorgeous new floors!

Technically this post is for Day 4 and Day 5. When the guys came in to give our floors a face lift, they had to sand them first and then stain them – so we had to get out of the way! We can’t get over how different the store looks with the newly stained floors.

The Grand Remodel: Day 3

And the work continues! Yesterday we forgot that when we took down the glass shelves, we had to also take down all the brackets that went with them. So now the only things are the wall are just the mirrors themselves. The guys also took out all the wooden base shelves, since we are repainting all the cubes, base shelves and crown molding! By the end of the day, all three of the giant chandeliers were officially out of the store and in the meantime, we needed to change the wiring for the new ones we are bringing in. Just wait – the ceiling is going to be stunning!!!

The Grand Remodel: Day 2

Adventures from Day 2 in the remodeling process. After moving all the merchandise either up the stairs or down the stairs on the first day, we were all avoiding the dreaded stairs the next day! But the glass shelves all needed to come down, so the stairmaster workout continued. While the BC gals took all the glass shelves down and started painting, the carpenters added some nice touches to the top shelves.

Meanwhile, the basement has been majorly changing! Granny and Scottie were in charge of all the brick finishing down in the basement – we can’t wait for you to come see all the changes down there!!!

The Grand Remodel: Day 1

As many of you may know, we’ve closed the doors at Belle Cose for a couple weeks of serious remodeling. While we originally thought we’d show you all the pictures once we’d finished, we realized it’s way more fun to watch us as we work! So keeping checking our updates to see the latest on what’s going on in the store.

Here’s what the main sales floor looked like after the last day of our big sale:

At the end of Day 1, we have successfully moved all the merchandise off the main sales floor! (Basically, the Belle Cose gals got a major stairmaster workout with LOTS of trips up and down the stairs!). Ever wonder what the store would look like without any merchandise on the shelves?
